I actually purchased a plane

A few months ago I got the itch to buy a plane, and while I don't have much savings, I figured a small Cessna 150 or 152 would work well for my needs.
Prior to calling up sellers I made sure that my credit union could finance the deal, and yeah, as long as I kept it below 30K I was good to go.
Really I think the hardest part was making sure that I'd have plenty of time on the engine since my budget for flying isn't all that great.
I finally found this one recently, and I think it will work out well with several hundred hours left before TBO.
Luckily I got the seller to drop another couple thousand, so if all goes well, it should only cost me around 20K.

First I think I'm going to get a BFR and start working on my IR...
On top of that, I think I might actually be able to make some events!
Oshkosh for sure, but I don't think I can make Sun n Fun, it's just too soon...
Love the idea of owning, can't wait to get all the paperwork done!

Congrats - you'll like having your own plane and a C152 is economical to use and since it's "slow" you get to build time too :).... Ask me how I know - HA
I noticed that it has an O-235 L2C engine - so does mine and they have a tendency to load up the spark plugs. Lycoming recommended that you use REM 37BY plugs for that engine. They are expensive new - you can get a reconditioned set for much much less from Aircraft Spark Plug Service Primary Phone: 818-787-5680 and keep them on hand so that when you do oil changes you can switch them out. That's what I"ve started doing. Before that I just rotated the bottom plugs to top.
I also did my IFR in my 152 - **warning** - they are light and not a very stable platform for instrument work but it is possible even in screamin A** winds like we have out here

It needs to be utterly false but sound completely plausible, like the planetary alignment that would decrease gravity. No offense William, but for most of us, even poor little ol' me, purchasing a 152 is not so far beyond the realm of possibility.

Hey, if I didn't have my car payment, I probably could afford it, I mean the one I posted costs less than my car did... :redface:
