The week before I moved, I called HP to have a laptop sent off for repair under an extended warranty. During that call, I gave them a new address for Texas. Upon my arrival, there should have been a box waiting to be filled to return to HP.
The next week, I learned there was some "error" and it was canceled. Of course, they don't call me. I learn this only by calling to ask where the box is.
So, again I give them the new address. It's for the FBO where someone will be there from 6AM to 9PM to receive a box from FedEx.
That box never shows. I call a third time. It appears it was sent to my old address in Georgia. They updated the address on the service ticket but not the service contract. Brilliance!
I have them verify the address again and tell them to insure there is no record of the old address. How stupid of me to think I was dealing with competent professional customer service people! I should be shot for such an assumption.
Tonight, I'm thinking it's already Wednesday. It should have been here by Tuesday at the latest. Well, it was received by Tuesday. In fact, it was received on Monday... at my old address in Georgia.
I call tonight and cannot get any changes in because their system is down. One of the largest data handling and systems supply companies in the world and their system is down!
So, tomorrow I'm going to call back. I'll make a fourth request to get this computer repaired under its extended warranty. On top of that, I've sent a fax and letter to HP's HQ in Palo Alto.
There's no excuse for this kind of incompetence.
