How much flying is too much flying?

Longest straight in GA was 6 hours from Denver to New Orleans.

I've had two sorties over 13 hours in the F-15; anything past 8 is a pain!

B-24's were still flying then?

I flew right seat and helped deliver a cargo version of the B-24 to Dallas-Fort Worth. The plane was in horrible condition, but I wouldn't have said "No" to the opportunity for anything.

As a passenger, 16 hours JFK to Johannesburg, nonstop. The OP asked what's too long. Let me tell you, that's too long. Especially when my seatback detente was broken, provoking constant complaints from the passenger behind me.

My longest to date was Jasper Ga. to Vernon Tx. 9 hours out, and 7 hours back, in the Cherokee 140. Fuel stop at PBF both ways.
And both times the restaurant was closed. :(

This is why you need a comfortable seat. Fly all day! Get a hotel room. Sleep at night... Get up, eat breakfast at the hotel and go fly again next day. Fly to Alaska!

Dang. Sounds like some of you guys are troopers. About 6 hrs in the 182 and I'm toast. And I don't like to fly more than 3 to 3.5 hours without a break to straighten out my back. Tulsa, OK to KOSH is the most I've done in a day at around 6 hrs flight time with a stop in Mexico, MO. I was pretty much ready to be done after the fairly wild Fisk arrival. The trip back was the same, but I was worn out from a few days at Airventure.

I'd guess flying in something with auto pilot might make long legs more enjoyable, but I've never flown one with AP.
