How many POAers do you know personally?

But double the coolness if I'm PIC and they are in my aircraft. Probably the most special / memorable flights (except for the one with my Dad).
Triple freaking coolness if I'm with you WITH my ticket too!! (And yeah, flying your parents must be amazingly cool).

None yet, but hoping to maybe change that before the end of the year. I was supposed to go fly with "Mister Whiskers" when I was in Austin a while back, but our plans fell through.

He is a great pilot. Flew with him in the left seat, Jesse in the right seat, me in the back. And he didn't even have his cert yet!

Weather seems to conspire against Challenged and I often. When yuou coming down here again?

Zero. However at some point in the next 3 or 4 weeks I need to fly up to SF and Kimberly you are welcome to go flying in my DA40. If you can fly a 172, you will have no issues flying a DA40.

Well funny you should mention it. I have a vacation March 9-12 and will be out of town and the weekend after that I'm meeting a POAer and his friend(s) for a Bay Tour in my plane but that won't take all weekend. So as long as you are not here on the 9-12 range and our schedules are good, sure. I'll PM you.

I've only met two or three here in person though I've been on here long enough to feel that I know some posters just as well as if I just had dinner with them once or twice.

Tom has helped me out over the years both in person and online :yesnod:

I hope that once I move to Michigan I will have a chance to meet more of you. Heck, I'll be located in the same county as 6Y9.

Well, I think all the Colorado contingent have met in person at least once. And turned into icicles at least twice.

Wait I stand corrected. From 0 to 1. I had a very nice phone call with Murphy earlier today. I forgot where the connection came from.

Here is my big 0. I am beginning to wonder if any one here is REAL!:D

I'll soon get to meet in person my first fellow POA'er. I need to see who all is in Ft. Lauderdale as I will be down in April for several days.

Since the whole reason I post here is because of the community, I wanted to see how many of you know other POAers.

By "know" I mean the following:

Met in person
Had (long / multiple) phone conversations
Had off-POA email friendships (pen pals)
Had IM chats (one on one, not the group chat room)

What would be your total number? I don't know mine, I need to count, but I'm sure it is more than 10 and less than 50.

Just curious, really.

I've met one, Jay Honeck and his wife Mary.

Where are you located? There are POAers everywhere. And, in my case, they come to SFO (where I am) for non-POA reasons (such as business trips) and then I get to fly with them in my plane or have a beer and hangar talk.

I'm in the DC area, Maryland specifically. Currently I'm in Orange, CA for work and will be until Tuesday morning.

Oh and Orange is more than 5 hours' drive from where I am in CA. I'm near SF. Sorry!

No sorry required. I'm pretty good at this geography thing. I did some work at the Santa Rosa hosp in Petaluma several years ago.

I need to knock out some hours for my IR, and I have a lot of vacation time to burn, so maybe I'll head up for lunch or something soon.

4 for me, that I can think of. bbchien, DaveB, Maverick (who lives less than a mile away), and Moxie (RIP).

Oh wait, EdFred too. That's 5.

Whatever happened to Ed anyway? I haven't seen a post by him in months.

...and yet you continue to reject all my marrige proposals.

Why, oh why must you torture my soul so Kimberly? :goofy:

None yet. I am probably flying to Pine Mountain Lake on Sunday with a friend (E45) if anyone wants to meet up for some hiking and stuff.

I've met three in person - earl72, Cap'n Jack and Everskyward.

Too many to count. I'd guess between 50 and 100. Except that Kimberly Anne. I think she doesn't really exist! :)

Zero. Including myself.

LOL! Frank and I were in the same room once, down at Meadowlark ... didn't know it until after the seminar. :D

I know a few ... had lunch with some of them, had lunch with another bunch of some of them, flew with a few of them - some still here, some moved on. I know if I try to name names, I'll forget someone and don't want to hurt anyone's feelings ...

not that we're not ready to head on over to mamby-pamby land or anything!!! :D

I talked to Ed a couple of days ago, he sounded great. Just is taking a web sabbatical.

I haven't made an actual count either but I suspect the total is north of 50.

Alaska Flyer, PA 23, kgruber and a couple lurkers.

And we'll meet tomorrow. Should find Ron Wanttaja tomorrow, as well.

I've met one other in person and I know how to get a hold of another at work (different location). And I've spoken with Bruce on the phone.

Need to work on increasing that number.

I got to talk to one on the phone a few times, or maybe it was once, I'm not sure, it was a few years ago. I know they are real though. I've got a POA jacket I wore down to get coffee at Starbucks once, nobody seemed thrilled.

None, not on this board or the Red Board. I just hang out with the folks at the home 'drome.

There's another board as well? What's this PB folks have been mentioning in this thread?
