I particarly enjoyed watching the Jetblue clown spraying the wing from so far away that the wind blew the fluid away before it hit the wing.

Are you sure it was even a JetBlue employee?

I suspect someone doesn't really have any idea how the process works.

Depends on how much contaminant you are removing, if it's one or two steps, how competent the deice crew is, what their equipment set up is. I've had it take 5-20 minutes for a type 1 spray and 15-45 minutes for a two step. Ymmv...

Unless that airport is drastically different than most - can pretty much guarantee that it wasn't an airline employee. Ground service is a completely different company (or companies in some cases)

We don't de-ice at LAX :)

How long does it take to shovel a 50' sidewalk?

The conga line only had Jetblue aircraft

The equipment had "Jetblue" all over it.

Close enough for Government work.

Used to love deicing in Canada, like going thru a car wash. You taxi in, get er done, taxi out and a short taxi to the runway for T.O. I think PIT had this setup as well.
