Looks like Udvar Hazy to me. I gotta go there one of these days.

Correct. You gotta spend a day there one of these days. I've been before, this time with a group that arranged a tour. 3 hours later and I was wandering on my own taking (more) pictures.

I plan on seeing it in about 2 weeks. There is alot to see in washington, but that is #1 on my list.

Cool. I recognized it right away but I visited recently, back in March.

I've got to find the time to visit. I'm changing planes at IAD in July, but there certainly won't be time to go to the museum. Drat!

Those are awesome photos, Bill. Here in Maine the winds were at 30-40 kts, so aviation was only a matter of conversation. I took a friend to dinner at a place I hadn't been in over 30 years, though it's only 20 miles from my house:

It's right on coastal U.S. Route #1 around which the surrounding communities' -- Boothbay Harbor, Bristol, Damariscotta, New Harbor, Christmas Cove -- populations balloon during the summer months.

The restaurant had undergone major renovation during the last several months, reopening only a few days ago for a season running to late October. Hopefully, it was a good visit(as was the fish chowder and lobster pie). Any lobster category entree was on special for $10.95. The good visit potential? The art works on its wall this year will be my photography. A minimum of 15 11" x 14" photo-canvas pieces will be on its walls within two weeks, they being in preparation at this time. I took one piece to show the owner. The 16 x 20(tug boat shot) was hanging before our drinks were served.

In the Galley(bar/lounge area) was a photo of a celebrity who has been there on numerous occasions if he happened to be be in Maine. This could be a good summer. The owner takes no commission on sales.

Dang. I thought you were going to post pics of you exercising PIC in your Commander. :frown3:

We went there when the 99's had their international conference in Washington DC a couple/few years ago.

They've added a bunch of stuff in the last couple of years (including a JSF). They're currently building a restoration facility on-site (I suppose it'll replace Silver Hill) that will have an observation deck. They'll also get one of the active shuttles when the fleet retires and the current display shuttle will go on tour.

I think the Connie was there before, but it may be a new addition. Likewise, I didn't see the Falcon 20 the first time I went. Take a pocket scanner if you go - the observation tower doesn't appear to have much of a live ATC feed.
