I'm not going to jump all over you, since you apparently had a legitimate question. I think the way it spiraled out of control with the personal attacks and so on is what led to the banning threat.
However, I will say that - the premise of your question does lead some to legitimate concern. Whether or not you obtained the medication with a papertrail is somewhat irrelevant.
I think the point that a few members made was this: The fact that you needed speed to complete your assignments tells us that your ability to manage work is not very good. Perhaps you don't have your work/life balance in balance. Perhaps you are actually ADD. Perhaps you have three jobs, go to school, and raise your little sister as well. We don't know. But if you go back and read your initial questions and subsequent replies, it really does look like you are looking for the easy way out. Easy way out of study/work (speed), easy way out of getting around this violation (hide/no papertrail), easy way out of medical (Find AME who agrees it's no biggie and issues you). At some point, perhaps in the cockpit at 3500' in IMC, it may all bite you in the butt when there is no easy way out...
I'm no stranger at all to the 3rd class medical hoops. I just spent a YEAR getting mine. Could I have "omitted" a few things and gotten issued immediately? Probably. I even had several local pilots suggest that I go to "their guy (AME)" who would presumably not ask questions <wink>. Would I be risking ever flying again if found out? Yep. I chose to go to Dr. B. and do it the right way. Its done and I dont have to worry about it ever again.
You also bring up a very interesting point - and one that maybe the rest of the board would value discussion (and has been somewhat). This sort of thing is going to become much, much more commonplace. Casual short-term use of some excluded substance, in the past, off-label. It probably warrants its own thread. I'm quite sure you are not the only one in the sky that has taken speed if it's as prevalent in college as I've been led to believe. And don't even get me started on the over diagnosis of ADD/ADHD.
At any rate - I don't think people on here (most anyway) desire to attack, but when someone posts "hey, I did illegal/disqualifying thing A, how to do I get around (away with) this now without doing it the right way?" they tend to tell you the hard truth. Whether its unsafe piloting practices or medical issues or alcohol/drugs.
Plus, the way you posted did kinda come off as a troll.. ultimately I don't think you were trolling - but it did kinda look that way. If you are still on here, and were serious not a troll - I do hope you think about your personal ability to manage workload/overload/risk.
