As a pyro - it has been a lifelong dream of mine to own a flamethrower. During some Facebook browsing today I realized that not only are flamethrowers 100% legal, but they are available for sale commercially as well.

I'll post pics and video in 3-7 business days.

LOL. Be careful. Third degree burns over most of your body may seriously hamper your flying career.

The Internet says it's safe, and besides I'll wear sunglasses and gloves to shoot it.

It's not the shooting it that's the problem, it's if and when it blows up on your back. Nomex recommended. Haha.

I'm not in the CAP so I'm not qualified to wear a doodoo suit.

Just think of it as NASCAR then, and pretend you're Ricky Bobby. You can strip and run around the Alaskan woods naked in your tighty whiteys.

Can I have your plane when you are turned into Flaming-Fred please?

Ba ha ha ha

Well played sir, well played.

....sadly CAP are not the only ones who have to wear them, though they are the only ones who LIKE to wear them.

That is how my grandmother does her garden weeding at the end of the year. She takes out her propane flamethrower and burns everything to the ground.

Imagine the looks on people's faces seeing an 80 year old with a flamethrower!!

henning will be along to tell you he's used these for years, he's rebuilt them, modified one to make it better, and how easy it would be to convert one to hydrogen.

We have a couple, use them for burning brush piles and fields. You can buy one at tractor supply or farm&fleet

God, I love America.

We used to be able to just invert the propane tank with a weedburner and get a respectable flame thrower. Now-a-days with the flapper that doesn't work so well.

They should sell them under the brand name DroneToaster for us pilots! :stirpot:
