On the road to lower BP

Guest
My Dr. just prescribed me Doxazosin to treat my high blood pressure. He looked at the FAA allowed medication list and said it's legal. I was hoping one of the Doctors on this forum can confirm that he is correct, before I pick up and start taking the medication. I'm prepared to wait out the no fly time. I just what to make sure I'm not going to start taking a no go medicine .
Thank you in advance

Not a doc but alpha blockers are approved. I’m on two other meds and brought my AME and doc a BP sheet with two weeks of readings 3x a day (wife is in medical). My doc also wrote my AME a progress note for the CACI showing it was controlled, stable, and no adverse side effects. Do your work up front to make it hard to deny your case.

Yes that's okay. Your AME will need a note saying, "I am satisfied with 'on the road to lower BPs' hypertension control", done within 90 days prior to your next medical.
