Hi everybody, I’m new here and this is my first post. After 5 years of saving up I and a partner just got a 2004 Extra 300L.

If anybody here is very knowledgeable about the 300L I have a bunch of new owner questions about potential upgrades/modifications (e.g. replacing the hard tailwheel, ferry fuel, etc), operations (e.g. experience with power settings for cruise flight, acro with fuel in the wings, etc), and anything else that I should know in general.

If anybody here is willing to humor me, please let me know.

Can't help with any of those questions... but I had the joy of being taken on one Extra 300 flight once, and it's one of the most treasured 30 minutes in my logbook! What a fun plane.

You will need quite a few dual hours to satisfy the insurance company for solo flight. Who do you plan to use? All of your questions are easily answered during the checkout process.
 
I can’t answer any of your questions either, but I look forward to reading about your adventures in that awesome airplane!

With my experience I need only 3 hours and 10 landings to a full stop. I am using a former Red Bull air race team member. And no the checkout process won’t answer all of my technical questions, I’ve already asked him. My overall mission profile will be different enough to what they did.
