I think it's a Luscombe. Can't be certain without looking up the number but that isn't any fun.

I think I've read about this in an aviation rag several years ago.

Let me guess. This was built in an era where manufacturers were trying to get planes to look more like cars to gain public acceptance. Close?
 
Don't know much about it. That said, after flying light sport it looks like it would be a lot of fun.
 
It's a Luscombe Silvair Sedan with an engine upgrade.

I can't remember the engine he said, it was noisy out there today at 11R, and my hearing's not the best, but it was a beautifully restored plane.

Huge head room in the cabin with sky glass in the top above pilot and co-pilot. I wish I had shots of the inside. It had that retro look of a C-195 on the inside. All metal enamel panel.

Being fashioned after a car was right what frog said, and twas' 11R like hotdog said.
 
And the paint color is "human tooth," like Mariana Gosnell's Luscombe in Zero Three Bravo. :D
