I need a 6-play 6.00 X 6.5. I hope you have better luck than I. I've spent a cumulative four hours on this.

Desser lists that as a size available, but I cannot find it for sale.

Maybe try calling them on Monday and see if they can help with a source.

Now I see the problem you are having.

How did you get that size, Ben? Did the parts manual call for that size? The existing tire?

Ben, what kind of plane are you flying with a wheel rim diameter of 6.5"? -- Mike
P.S. Oops! I have corrected that to be 6.5" instead of 5.5". I was in a 30 km race this morning and have no business trying to reply to anything of subtance for 24 hours.

Not Ben, but I suspect it is a Zlin 242L.

Anthony's correct, and the size is even listed on the wheel, itself.

If they are that hard to find I recommend contacting the USA Zlin distributor:

USA
ZLIN FIREWALL FORWARD LTD.
# 997 Robin place
Qualicum Beach
V9K 2P4
BC
Canada
Tel.: +1 (250) 752 4597
Cell: +1 (705) 528 2374
email:pnovak7@hotmail.com, pavel.novak@sympatico.ca

Also, you may want to ask them about Zlin service bulletin Z 242L/5b:

Z 242L/5b
19. 9. 1996
all Z 242L a/c
Possibility to use new landing gear wheels provided with GOODYEAR tires

Maybe that will allow a rim change for a more available tire size. Never hurts to ask.

Thanks. We did try contacting them--no joy, believe it or not. I will ask about that SB.

Very nice and interesting plane! -- Mike
It sure is. I will be happy to see the new C182 when my CFII gets it, but I will be equally sad to say goodbye to the Zlin.
