Starting my pilot training in a Cherokee and then probably buying a bonanza 36 for family after. I know these threads are everywhere just wanted a personal one for me. Thanks for your help I'm advance.
 
Are you trying to sell us those headsets or ask us which one is best?

If asking for an opinion, I’d go with the Bose X. Just as good as any of the others and much cheaper.
 
Priority for dinero should be on lessons and renting. I’d cheap out in the beginning until you see what you like and then invest. Then take time to watch eBay and wait for the angel in the rough so to speak of deals.
 
Bose X at that price. Then once you get your license, you can upgrade and use those for passengers.
 
I'm sorry at work had to type fast. But I'm asking on opinions on what I should get for my situations.
 
Ya I was thinking the bose X I've done a lot of research and that price I dont think I'll be able to beat for training headsets. Then probably give them to the wife after I upgrade.
 
Another vote for the Bose X. At that price, it’s a good deal.

Good idea to get your own headset. I got sick from using one of my flight school’s headsets...
 
That's what I heard too. They most of the time use cheap david clamps. I didnt want that. In my eyes if you want something done right get it done yourself. Then too I have a good back up too later on. Thank you for all your help on my first post as well. I'll be picking up the bose Xs.
 
Get the A20 now. Why are you even asking, given that your going from zero time to a $250k+ airplane in a few months.

Your wife is only worth a Bose X I guess?!?
 
Ya I really do like cirrus but I need a 6 seater single engine, for family and what not. But figure get the great deal on the X now while I can. To test out bose cause who know might prefer other brands. This is my first headset. And if I do wanna change the wife can have the X and I'll get something else and still save some money without paying the high price tag. I just figure if you have bluetooth you should be able to stream music which a20s dont. So who knows. But at least in case I got a good deal and the wife will have a good headset right off the bat.
 
And dont get me wrong I want the wife to have nothing but the best. When it comes to x and a20 not a whole big difference really the ANR is slightly better and phone bluetooth with no music. Hard to say pay the $400 more just for that. But who knows I might love the X and wanna keep for myself. I have yet to try everything right now is under "what if?" Haha. And again thank you everyone for your input l, I appreciate you taking your time for my question.
 
You should worry less about streaming music and worry more about learning how to fly.

By the way, my A20 comm in my flight helmet sounds excellent when streaming music. So do my Zulu 2s. I like Bose in my helmet but prefer Zulus for headsets.

The biggest difference, for me, is that the Bose A20 fits over my ears and the A10 sits on my ears. For long flights the A20 are much more comfortable. A bit quieter too.
 
Ok no need to be rude. I understand I need to learn to fly first! I dont care about music at the moment need to focus on training first. However I was talking about this bigger picture after training.

Interesting. My A20 ear cups sit on my ears. It took some fitting to make them seal well in my helmet as the cups they replaced were larger and fit over the ear. Very comfortable and the sound is good but the helmet contributes to the noise attenuation.

Only problem is that the PAX won't be able to listen to tunes or watch a movie without going through the intercom.

Not quite true. There is an aftermarket adapter. I’ve got one I my X’s. Think I bought it from Aircraft Spruce.

Unless you are flying less than 100 miles VFR, almost any Bo you get is not a six seater. If you get one with either the MTOW increase due to tips or TAT, it can carry more leagally but you pay for it in performance. So look at it closely.
The Piper Cherokee line is really the SUV load hauling of SEL piston low wing planes. For high wing, not sure....

And yes, you can get a Cirrus for a lot less than 250K. I did.

If the Bose A20 you're considering is not brand new, understand that there are two versions of the Bluetooth model: the early version only connects to your phone for making calls; the later version will connect to anything Bluetooth so you can stream audio. The earlier version does have an audio in jack, which seems antiquated nowadays. They changed this about two or so years ago and you can upgrade the old Bluetooth one but I believe it will cost an extra $200.
 
I bought my A20 early on in my training and have no regrets. If I had access to the X though for that price at the time I was buying I probably would have done that though. Having the bluetooth for longer cross countries is nice.
 
Full disclosure. I own a pair of Bose X. I wore them about a month before I switched to Clarity Aloft. i got CA's for my girlfriend too. She only uses the CA's in my RV (canopy clearance) and she takes the Bose when we're in something bigger.

I also bought a pair of QT Halo's to compare to the CA's. I like them, probably use them 20-30% of the time.

And then I have some DC passive clamps. I bought new pads, gels, muffs and they are in perfect shape, sitting in a bag. (I know longer have access to a 6 seat aircraft)
 
Can't really go wrong with the Bose. If they had Zulu 3's I would recommend those. They are built extremely well, fit my ears and head better, and the cord is much better than the Bose. They may not be as quite as the Bose but are pretty good. My mic also seems to pick up less wind noise than Bose.
 
Another one in the camp of for the price, get the Bose X. They are just fine and that's a good deal.
 
Bose X - they work great and if you look around you can find them in the $350 range fairly easy.
 
I use a Clarity Aloft headset. So far it's worked great, except it seems to pick up a fair amount of wind noise with the window open. I love that it doesn't squeeze my head or sit over my ears and I can wear a hat and glasses without any discomfort.
