There area around the mountain is amazing. I first went there many years ago and it reminded me of those moon photos, "magnificent desolation" as Buzz would say. I picked up several 'new' rocks too. I still have them, it is not often that you know the birthday of a rock and it is younger than yourself.Talk about nature's fury. Reminds you that we're really just borrowing this rock.

No, but I know/knew of him.Did you know him? I was living south of Seattle at the time, and remember the day well.
Here's a picture of Dave, on the north side of the mountain, on 5/17/1980; he died, along with 56 others, the next morning. RIP.
