Have a garmin 430W hooked up to a collins indicator. Looks like this.

I only have 2-3 flights in the airplane. Coming into the home drome I loaded up an LPV approach w vectors to final.

While flying the approach I got the LPV indicator on the garmin display, and everything seemed to work fine. The Localizer and glide slope seemed to work as they should, except the GS flag never went out.

The database is way out of date. Could this have anything to do with it?

Any other troubleshooting tips appreciated. I am going to try it with an ILS approach this weekend and see if that makes a difference.

I didn't think to run the self test of the CDI or bother to look at it, so i'll try that.

Yep - check the self-test (at start-up, after the first "enter") - the flags should be hidden, and half-deflection on GS and CDI.

I think Spike's right -- internal problem in the CDI. The normal start-up self-test should tell you more. But until it's resolved, I strongly recommend not going below LNAV MDA with that flag in view unless you're in visual flight conditions and can see the ground and obstructions.

Hmmmm... I have the same thing... Let's just say I have the motivation to upgrade to a 430w... Hope you fare better...
