GPS 150XL/155XL tray

I'm looking at an airplane with a GPS 150XL installed. I'd be very interested if I could swap the 150XL for a 155XL. Does anyone know if the two use the same tray? I can't think of a reason why they shouldn't be able to, but it is Garmin....

Not sure about the physical structure of the tray, but the IFR 155 requires an additional annunciator/switch panel, as well as an external CDI/HSI, that certainly uses more/different wiring connections, though it might simply be more pins used in the connector at the back.

As you know the 155 is pretty old. Database updates are now for only half the US. Mine had a database from the first Obama administration and I left it alone until it was replaced with a 375.

the databases update process will probably be withdrawn entirely in the very near future.
