GoPro audio cable issue.

I bought a cable to record audio to my go pro but when I use it the audio quality drops way off.

The volume drops to near muted. I even tried plugging it into the passenger jack (with my headset plugged into the pilot jack) and the quality instantly dropped again.

I'm guessing it's an issue with the cable, but wondering if there is something else I should check before I send it back.

See if the problem goes away after you turn on the gopro and insure it is pluged it into the GoPro.

Basically the problem is that the impedance is different between the devices that source the sound, and a specialized cable must be used, some manufactures do a good job, others do not, or you can build your own.

Camera is a hero 4 black and the cable is the Nflightcam. It is the one advertised for hero 3, 3+ and 4.
