Global ADS-B coverage via satellite

It only makes sense, but as we put more eggs into the satellite basket, I get a bit nervous. 'Just saw some program about the anti-satellite programs out there. Despite treaties, it's apparent all the Big Dogs have functioning systems and are building more.

Why bother with satellites if you can just post a circling unmanned aircraft at 60,000ft doing the same thing. One day, anyway.

Ground based ADS-B doesn't do any good for transoceanic aircraft that is why satellite based has been in the works all along, to track an aircraft anywhere in the world at any time.

The only problem is the interface. Where are ADS-B out antennas currently installed and being installed? The aircraft belly. Future installs will require adding another antenna.
