My Twin Beech has a GTX 330 ES. For ADS B in, I have a Stratus II and ForeFlight.

I've been noticing that I periodically get a target aircraft appearing on ForeFlight traffic that is slightly behind and within 300' of my actual altitude. If I change course, this target mirrors my actions. I suspect that the Stratus is picking up the out signal from my GTX 330.

Has anyone else seen this? It seems to come and go - not always present? Is there a way to disable own ship in ForeFlight?

Foreflight is supposed to detect and filter the ownship ghost.
Check under the devices section of the "More" icon on bottom right, select Stratus2 and scroll down - there should be a line called something like "Ownship detected - yes or no." I believe that correct behavior is for you to see a few seconds of your ownership upon launching the app and then it should disappear as it recognizes the tail number. If yours comes back periodically there may be an issue with your Stratus or the settings of the 330ES.

Same thing happened to me this morning, traffic appeared behind and on my heading and only 100ft below me ...I initially climbed and changed course before realizing it was ownship ghost !
Appeared just as I got over a large lake and disappeared when I had crossed it, don't know if this was just a coincidence, didn't see the "ghost" for rest of the flight.

Installed the 330 es and haven't encountered any problems, with ghost readings.

Ah, thanks. Based on the previous thread, I was trying to figure out how to disable it, but couldn't find the feature since I'm at home and the Stratus isn't connected.

I'm assuming in the device menu is where you can put in your Mode S HEX code?

With your equipment, the Stratus should determine that the broadcasts being received are from your ownship and suppress their display, there is no configuration used. If you are experiencing ghosts when in steady flight with your equipment, then one of two possibilities are likely. Case 1, the ground station is generating a TISB for your aircraft, it should not if it is a valid client. Case 2, you have a configuration or other error in the GTX330ES installation and are considered by the FAA to be a Non Performing Emitter (NPE). ADS-B Out systems that are NPE will see a continuous ghost because a ground station will always generate a second TISB target for them. The second target is the TISB, the first target is the ADS-B Out NPE system. The ghost will often trail behind your location and not have an N number. If you tap on the ghost, if it shows it is a TISB in the bubble, it is coming from the ground station.

If you post a few screenshots, I can tell you what case you are experiencing. Show the ghost on the map page and tap on it to display the source, then take a screenshot. Then go to More>Devices>Stratus 2> display the status and locate the Ownship indication. It should display that it is detected and match your N number. If it does, tap on the > next to the N number and take 2 screenshots of the details of your broadcast. Take one screenshot, then scroll the view to the bottom and take one more to get all the broadcast data. If you prefer to send me the data privately, PM me.
