What is wrong with people? Work with a young kid and he wears his pants so low. I get it its the style of jailbirds....I don't work in a jail even though it feels like it. Don't they ever hear dress for the job you want to have not for the job you do have. All we have to do is wear a nice shirt and pants. Can't people try to rise up to be better then prior generations? Or is that old thinking? I'm reading legacy journal by the infamous dave Ramsey and I am around people that I want to be like.

So frustrating. Not going to change the world but this is my venting field.

Wow time flies. I knew him when he was a major.

Nauga,

Didn't you do things when you were young that made the older generation shake their heads?

That Elvis is turning all the kids into little devil worshipers

You know who else had hands? The DEVIL! And he uses them for holdin'.

You should tell the kid that style went out over 10 years ago.

Don't worry, be happy. . .he'll figure it out. Or not. Won't cost you anything, either way. Observe, with detachment, without passion or prejudice.

Yeah that ^^. I think it looks stupid too, but who am I? When I think about the things I did to rebel at a young age... Yikes!

"This country is going to Hell!"

I've heard this all my life and now I've reached the age where I believe it also.

Perhaps there is a reason for "income inequality" then.

It ****es me off when people do stuff like this, then ***** they don't have a six-figure job, free healthcare, etc. WTF people, if you want a good job you have to dress and act responsible. Maybe it's not fair, but it's the way the world works.

This kid is a reflection of all of us. It takes one guest to think we're all sloppy.

I wish there was a way to help raise people up. I complained to the boss and she said she didn't understand that style... Then forbid it. Do a dress code check at the door.

and kid.....get off my lawn!!! :goofy: :D

btw....every generation has their forms of rebellion and unique identity.

What happens if one guest thinks your sloppy?

And I assume you talked to the kid with an a$$ showing problem before you talked to the boss, right?

As far as attire goes, our company used to require suits and ties. Now it's business casual, with jeans and tshirts on Fridays and a few weeks of each year. I didn't care for it at first but after fifteen years of it I'm indifferent now.

As for hanging around people you admire, I'm like that to an extent. I don't want to be around people who are problematic or like to create drama. There is almost nothing that I wouldn't do to help out my friends, so I choose people who feel the same way to associate with.

This is a general trend that I see. When I first started working professionally as a civilian, ties and slacks were the norm although not suits, except for special functions. Now, a collared button down shirt and Dockers are viewed as "formal." And a logo'd polo shirt during the week (particularly if engaged in a field activity) is acceptable.

I don't even really get the tattoo thing. Most of skin is messed up with scars but I had no choice in the matter.

If you are not in a position to set and enforce the dress code for the company then you can't really do anything about it.

There was a company I worked for that had a dress code. The department head was known to send people home if they didn't comply. After a couple of those incidents, people got the hint.
I am all for business casual but too many people have tried to redefine it by wearing sweatpants, lycra, yoga pants, ratty denim, and the like. Dress for success. You m ight get there!

Every generation goes through their individualism but find they tend to look and dress like their peers. I had hoped jailin' would have been a short lived style. It seems to have not just become commonplace but accecpted.

With all the comments,it would seem they are getting the attention, they had hoped to attract.
