Interesting, a 1300hp TP single from Textron, I wonder if it will be a Beech or a Cessna?

Or Columbia (I know, not a marketed brand)

Yeah, that now falls under Cessna, and I'm wondering if they have deal with the Lancair for the Evolution to go TP single, or if it's going to be a single engine King Air.

See how it stacks up to the PT6 family.... Hopefully something faster and sweeter than the caravan

I was wondering if the 1300hp was going to be a 'low end' of the new design series. It seems like this might be a one step up from the PT-6/TPE-331 power size engines. I'm not real familiar with the market, but I'm not aware of much choice in the in the 1500-3000shp range presently.

Isn't that what the Pilatus is?

I think you'd need to go composite to match the sex appeal of the Epic or Kestrel (if it ever gets certified). That's what former Cirrus owners would want.

That's why I was wondering if they were going after the PC-12 market or the TBM market.

Not that it matter, but there are an awful lot of freighters based on 19 seat airliners that are going to need to be replaced at somepoint in the future. Perhaps this plane will be something that could be considered in that market? Or this could be used to make 208s and PC12s cheap enough they get more common in freight.

Alongside of this NBAA announcement wasn't there some mention of a new Cessna turboprop single?

"LAS VEGAS, Nevada – November 16, 2015 – GE Aviation today unveiled its all-new turboprop engine, which has been selected by Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron, Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, to power its single engine turboprop (SETP). Textron Aviation and GE announced the aircraft-engine pairing today at the National Business Aviation Association’s annual tradeshow"

I've seen articles mentioning the engine is for a new Textron airplane and others mentioning a new Cessna. I have not seen any articles linking it to a new Beech. So it seems far more likely it is going on a Cessna than a Beech.
