So far, 120hr surface and 6-10 day precip maps look really good. Go weather!

Hmmm, maybe you need a harder job assignment? ;)
Harder than ensuring good weather across the entire country for Fri, Sat & Sun? I don't think so.

My money back guarantee still stands. If you can't make it to Gaston's due to weather I'll refund 100% of the money paid to me. You can't beat that deal.

Still looking good, don't want to jinx this, but I think its going to be great!

Good job, Chip. The weather for my flight today is lookin' good. Can you lower the temperature a bit?

Typical customer. Never satisfied. Tell you what I'll do. I'll try to ensure that temperatures remain under the 100 degree mark. No promises.

And the humidity. Could you keep it under 60% please.

Thank you.

;)

ROFLMAOPIMP      You have GOT to be kidding! This is the midwest. Nothing below 95% until the end of September.

Toby,
I'll do what I can. I've made a note that you'd like the humidity kept below 95%.

Below 95 percent? Great! It's gonna be a DRY heat compared to the steambath central Florida has been so far this summer.

and can I get a tailwind please ? both ways ?

Eastbound, yes. Westbound, sorry, that would mean a tropical storm or hurricane moving in from the Gulf. I'd as soon not deal with that....

Could get a high moving across the plains that would help out.

Me however....I need that high to be here a couple days early

FYI:

This weekend is forecast to be much like today here in the Ozarks, except hotter - and it feels damn hot here right now. Among the list of items you'll want to include for your trip please plan on plenty of anti-perspirant. We appreciate it.

Expect an afternoon temperature of around 90 degrees and a relative humidity of between 80% - 90%. The density altitude of Gaston's will likely be between 2,500' and 3,000'. I'm hoping to have a runway report for you sometime tomorrow, but it's safe to say there is no standing water on the runway right now.

Mark B is on his way to vegas as i write this. Plan was for me to fly out there and pick him up. And of course..Thunderstorms in Vegas right now.
Not a good start to the Gastons weekend...

Assuming, of course, that TSA didn't have to - um - sample it to make sure it was safe....

I flew from Atlanta to Kansas City on Monday morning and came back this afternoon. Outbound at 10,000 and back at 9,000 I had a little tailwind both ways. If you live right (as all Mooney drivers do), it could happen for you too

I got the same Saturday going to TEB and back on Sunday to PIA. Amazing. Must be because I an ex-Mooney driver.

Someone needs to move this thread out of "Cool Places to Fly." I just looked, and it's forecast for sunny and 95 degrees in Lakeview AR this weekend. Dunno 'bout the rest of you, but for me, that's HOT! Only good news is the humidity is forecast under 50%. Light, short clothes, and SPF 85 sunblock for me.

I dunno... That 72-hour surface forecast doesn't bring happy thoughts to me.

Hey Chip, how 'bout you shove that nasty cold front and its associated TSRA about 300 miles east so I don't have to fly from Madison to Gaston's via Omaha?

Maybe I'll just end up threading the needle. I'll be stuck VFR anyway.

Hi Kent, I'm keeping a close eye on it too. Different weather forecasts are giving indications. While I'm IFR, the plane doesn't have storm detection. If you're stuck trying to go VFR maybe you can join my wife and I Saturday morning at DPA?

AOPA indicates it should be okay:

Aviation site is not as hopeful:

If its below 100 deg and less than 80% humidity in June, July and August that's COOL in MO. So fly early or fly late and fly high as possible.
