I've looked and really cannot find a solid answer...

Is there a way to build waypoints and routes on the PC and import them into Garmin Pilot? Every app and program in the free world has a way to interface and share data...even tight a$$ Google Earth and Maps can import and export data.

Is this possible with Garmin Pilot?

I think it might be possible if you have a FltPlan.com account.

EDIT: I just tried it and you can create a flight plan in FltPlan.com and import it into GarminPilot via the Trip Planning function.

Yes, but it has been a while. Let me load some backup tapes and try to retrieve that.

Get your waypoint data in this format.

Still trying to remember how I got it in GP. Once in GP, you have to manually give each point a name. And then manually build the route, so there is still alot of brute force.

I'm not sure what you're looking for but it doesn't get any easier using skyvector to plan your route then send it to GP and just import it boom done. tsts also mentioned fltplan, which is prob just as easy, it's just not my tool of choice. but 2 incredibly easy options, and also what van johnston said.

skyvector

Maybe a second time will help.

What is the easy way to make skyvector draw a circle of a certain radius centered on a specific lat/long?

don't know, honestly don't care. haven't ever done it, prob never will. but more importantly it's not what the OP asked.

(As suggested above) flight plans created in FltPlan.com web application [or FltPlan GO mobile app] automatically sync with 'Trips' in Garmin Pilot ...

1. On the PC, login to Fltplan.com website and ‘Create Flight Plan’.
- Route section accepts vors, intersections, airways, sids/DPs/stars, ndb, lat/long, place/bearing/distance, etc. [Create Your Own Route]

2. On device, open Garmin Pilot
- click Settings > Fltplan.com … then 'Sign In'
This synchronizes flight plans created (on PC using FltPlan.com) so they appear in GP under Trips (Trip Planning).
[screen capture attached]

Tip:
In GP, there is a separate option called FltPlan.com which is (a) not under Settings and (b) opens and allows login to a web version of FltPlan.com (within Garmin Pilot).
This option (alone) does not sync flight plans created in FltPlan.com (or FltPlan GO) with Garmin Pilot.
For sync to happen automatically in Garmin Pilot, 'Sign In' under ... Settings > Fltplan.com

In case useful, an option ... for consideration.

@plongson Expanding on skyvector option (for example, if lat/long for waypoints unknown and prefer instead, to use drag and drop to create route/waypoints) ...

1. On PC, login to skyvector.com, enter departure and destination, then drag and drop on route to create waypoints (attached "W route" illustration)
Click on the Export icon (circled in red), select Garmin Pilot, and 'Email Flight Plan'
2. On device, open email (from ops@skyvector.com) and click on 'Open in Garmin Pilot'.
