Garmin 500 External Video Source

Hey guys. Reading through the G500 pilot guide (3.3.11) today I saw where the MFD can have an external video source. Doesn't say much other than that. Anyone have any experience with this? Just out of curiosity, would it be possible to play a movie or is it solely for something like a GoPro on the wing? How would you even go about hooking something like this up?

I’ve always thought this capability would make for a nice way to check if gear are fully up or down. Not sure what the camera and mounting requirements are.

They had some VIRB (IIRC) cameras hooked up with some G3X Touch displays at Oshkosh last summer. Would be pretty cool to mount a camera on your tail and be able to see the feed on your panel!
