This is supposedly a WAAS unit. Whenever I have a good signal and a WAAS signal, the altitude scrolls up and down by quite a bit. Admittedly, this is on the ground and not moving. Is this the reason for the discrepancy or is it that I am not receiving a good WAAS signal, even though it says I am? Or is it because it is not a true WAAS capable unit?

What's quite a bit? Expected vertical accuracy is about 5 times worse than horizontal. Also your accuracy will be affected by multipath when on the ground.
