The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has released its 2019 sales report, and the trend is positive. GAMA members delivered 1,509 piston engine airplanes last year, compared to 1,302 last year. The sales gains were mostly driven by Diamond, Piper, and Tecnam, with Diamond increasing deliveries by 99 airplanes, Piper adding 73, and Tecnam adding 25. Most of Diamond's increase was delivered by the DA-40, Piper's by the Archer, while Tecnam's was split between the P2010P and its new P2012 commuter liner. Missing from the party is Cessna, whose piston aircraft sales increased by 3.
