May be moving to Wichita in the next year. How is the GA scene in the area? Are there good flying club (non-equity) and/or rentals? How is the weather for flying?
If you like flying in the wind, you’ll LOVE Wichita! How is the weather for flying?

I've noticed, looking at the weather the last month or so!If you like flying in the wind, you’ll LOVE Wichita!![]()
If you're moving here to work at Textron, the Employee Flying Club is a no brainer.
Air Capital Aviators Club at Jabara. I've been a member there since 2009 when it was called the Boeing Employee Flying Club. www.aircapitalaviators.club
Not to be confused with a small flight school at Jabara called Air Cap Aviation which has a Skyhawk and Cherokee and Apache for rent.
Joe Bravo is mostly at Augusta and has a collection of rentals mostly based there and sometimes some at Newton. Skywhawks, Cherokee, Cherokee 235, Bonanza I think (?) and a Travel Air.
Ortega and Aviation Academy have flight schools at Eisenhower. Ortega has newer Skyhawks, a new Piper Cherokee, and Diamond DA42. Aviation Academy has a nice fleet of Skyhawks and an Aztec.
There is a club at Stearman called the Flying Pigs that has a very unique mix of options. Taildraggers to pressurized twins.
There are planes at all these airports that are for rent if you know the people involved.
At Hutchinson is a club that has a 150 and a Grumman Tiger.
Our soaring club is out at Sunflower south of Hutchinson, if you want to try unpowered flight.
There is plenty of GA activity. And yes, comfort in the wind will significantly expand the number of days/year that you fly.
