Pre-Flight
Just an update on the progress of Grand Son Rudy as he goes thru AF basic training. He just finished warrior school last week and as a reward to the finishers, they were permitted to go across the street from Lackland for a treat of Burger King junk food. Rudy said that it was one of the best meals he had in several weeks. They have also recieved their dress blues with their names on them and are proud of them. Rudy will graduate on July 21, (we hope with honors) and his Dad, Mom, little brother Judd and some of his running buddies intend to be there. Grandpa and Grandma won't be able to go as our oldest grandson, Rudy's cousin, is getting married that weekend. The date had been picked for a long time and I did not have enough connections to get the AF to change the date on their graduation. Also we need to keep the books at the family convenience store so that his Dad can enjoy the trip and as my son Kris put it, keep him from overdrawing!! Rudy has made some lifelong friends. I have failed to ask him and he has not told me if, to his knowledge, others of his class have a pilots license. There may be some but doubt that any have one issued when he was 18 and by his grandpa, that was a happy memory.
We hope to visit him in Biloxi at meteorology school, and am sure more of the family, especially little brother Judd will want to go.
