How to get rich:
1) Write a book on how to get rich
2) Convince people you have the answer.

If it's worked long enough for there to be a book about it, all the people who've gotten rich off of it already have, and as the sucker reading the book, the best you can hope for is to be on the downward side of the curve.

The most expensive book I ever bought was a Motley Fool guide to stock market investing I bought in 1999.

The advice cost you that much, huh?

I bought a couple of "Make money on foreclosures" books. They all said I needed to have money first. Darn.

Send me $5 and I will send yo ua packet of information about how I made my first million (yen).....

Stupid is as stupid does.

IMHO, the people who bought this crap are the same people arguing for higher taxes on the "rich."

It's easy to get rich. Take a trip to Zimbabwe, trade in $0.01 and get one of these?

Maybe I'll buy General Motors.

My published advice:

When the market drops to its lowest point, invest $1,000. Then, sit back and wait thirty years.

Pleas send $1.00 to "Ken", General Delivery, Austin, Texas.

For an additional $50.00, I'll include a crystal ball.

My friends, I need your assistance. This is a matter of great urgency. I have the sum of 1 billion ($5,000,000) US Dollars in a bank in Nigeria, but I am unable to transfer to America because I am in exile. I need you, as an American citizen, to receive these funds. I will award you 1 million ($2,000) for your trouble.

I cannot tell you how I acquired your name, but I was told you were a trustworthy source capable of helping me. Please reply immediately!

-John Carnot

Wait, what?
