Fun Flight (what's that?)

I've found the best way to not ***** about other people changing plans, is to buy your own plane. Not a partnership. Not a club. Sole ownership. Until then, "Wah!"

Some of us don't get lucky enough to be born into a situation that lets you afford a plane.

Some of us also save our money for 10+ years by not going to movies, out to dinner, dating, taking vacations, etc, and put themselves in a position to buy a plane. Maybe you should look into that before assuming incorrect things about other people that have done things to put themselves ahead. I didn't always work for my family, and in fact, I took initially took a pay CUT to come work for my dad, after working for 6 years on the drawing boards and CAD screens.

Maybe some people need to get along? :)

Maybe you shouldn't assume that I was talking about you working for you Dad...

You do have a great and supportive family and I thought I recalled that you lived at home for quite a while.

I'm not sure that not dating for 10 years is worth the airplane...

I get along fine with those that don't demand transport or airplane rides. :)

Not demanding transport or rides... I was given crud that I was going to fly myself to 6Y9 because AztecAir let me down last year after I agreed to PAY to ride with Ted rather then fly myself.

If I didn't have plans that were cancled at the last minute last year I could have reserved the archer early enough to beat the other club memebers.

Now if you really want, I just won't come at all to 6Y9.

I was referring to the Satruday morning demand at Gaston's of, "Who is giving me an airplane ride?" As if people with planes are somehow obligated to provide others with rides.

You take the cards you get and you play them the best you can. There will always be another person that starts with a better set of cards.

I respect those that don't judge someone based on the cards they started with, for the worse, or for the better.

In the end it really doesn't matter what you started with.

Kind of reminds me of a new sign I saw this weekend.

"He who dies with the most toys is never the less dead" :)

That's worth it just for the sanity ;)

In my studies, airplanes are less expensive than women.

Now combine women with airplanes? Ooh boy... ;)

I don't think that was how it was stated. But remember however you wish...

You are correct, it was "OK, who is giving me an airplane ride?" Not, "If anyone is going up, can I go along?" Not, "If it's not too much trouble I would like a ride from someone." Not, "Is there room for me on the poker run if anyone is doing it?" It was asked as if we had some sort of obligation or were bound by some creed to give rides to anyone that demanded to have one, whether they tacked on a question mark through inflection or not. None of us there thought you were joking, and then if that wasn't enough you didn't feel like walking across the runway and told one of us to take whatever bag it was you were carrying over to the picnic table. It was delivered in a manner that was outright rude. No one thought you were joking, no one thought you were being funny, and after you left with Jay the five or six of us that were still there had a small discussion about it, and we all pretty much came to the conclusion as I have. Which is why I had the retort that I did that morning.

I am not remembering it how I wish, I am remembering it EXACTLY how it happened.

X2. I love when people say others are "lucky" when they have stuff. I would bet that most if not all of the people here own their airplanes and other "stuff" due to HARD work, sacrifice and making difficult lifestyle CHOICES.

"Luck" implies some sort of gift, with no tie to effort.

I cringe when I hear people say, "You're so lucky to have such a great family..."

Some of us set aside flying and nicer houses and cars and other pursuits while raising a family. There was no annual pilgrimage to Rat World since we didn't have double full time income.

We went without, we set some things aside, now the children are grown, some things become within reach which heretofore were not.

What? Is it sacrilegious to refer to His Worship as -- a rat?

I believe he was finding your nom de plume for His Mouseness to be far more appropriate than most people's. I am in full agreement. :)

I also agree with the "luck" comment. Some things you're born with, but ultimately your life is what you make of it.

All hail Marty Moose!!

AMEN!!
