We usually fly a more direct route with a stop in western Colorado, but in case weather doesn't allow it I am planning an alternate path home (AZ to ND). The halfway point by miles is somewhere around Pueblo or Colorado Springs. I'm trying to find a place where we can get fuel without too much hassle (full serve or self serve, not picky, I just don't want to have to manhandle the plane back out of a tight spot when it's heavy), stretch our legs, walk our dogs a little, and ideally microwave some food we brought. Does anyone have PIREPs for airports in that vicinity where this would work out well for us?

Meadow lake, aka KFLY. Terminal closes at 4 pm but ops,are 24/7 and gas is cheap, great community of businesses and a KOA across the street, which means a park area. Don’t know about a microwave. Email or call them.
Also check airnnav

Or, spaceport KCFO, text me and I’ll meet you there. Microwave and fridge in the hangar, full bathroom with shower in the EAA hangar if you arrive after 5 pm, nice grassy area for the dog.

Thanks for the tips. We ended up going via Grand Junction this time as usual, but we're hoping to make the trip again at least once or twice this winter and if we go around the east side I'll let you know with plenty of warning to make your excuses. :)
