Hi,

New here. I haven’t flown in about 12 years and am interested in getting my currency back now, and working on my instrument rating starting the end of 2018. My problem is, in the promised land of flight training, I can’t get a flight school or a flight instructor to return a call or an email. Any suggestions?
 
Welcome to the zoo! I'd just stop in for a visit. I'd wanna check out the place anyway. And the planes, condition, rates, etc.

I’ve tried that. Found a lot of locked doors and closed gates. Getting pretty frustrated.
 
Ask this forum for some recommendations of schools available ,in the area you want to train in. Then go check them out and ask some questions.
 
Go up to Kingsky in Lakeland for a few weeks and knock it out
 
Yeah, I’d love to, but I have to work. I can train in the evenings and on weekends only. And as far as recommendations, I’ve had several, but none have answered my voice mails or returned emails. When I drop by the airport, I see dark offices and locked gates.

How many have you tried? My flight school has a reception desk, guaranteed to answer the phone, but it’s a 141 school, and has 15 instructors, but it’s up in Stuart.
I’ve found many don’t want to do just an IPC or flight review.

I’ve called 3 or 4, and also emailed. No answer. And while it’s true that right now I just want my bianual, I would like to get my instrument rating by the end of the year.
