I think we may have gotten all the goody out of this thread.
I just never have, and never will, understand the desire some people have to even start using drugs. It just makes zero sense to me, and never has.
Same here. I just don't need to be controlled by an outside substance to help me feel something, legal substance or not. I don't even do caffeine. I gave up soft drinks 5 years ago. It takes a lot for me just to take a pain pill. With the recent minor surgery I had, they gave me the anesthesia without asking me.
I tease a friend of mine. He gets up in the morning and says, "Don't talk to me, I'm nothing without my morning coffee". I tell him he is nothing with his coffee....
I have seen several people loose quite a lot just for a little "recreational drug."
And he remains on POA for another day.I refuse to comment.
Any updates or still the same?I think we may have gotten all the goody out of this thread.

No updates, unfortunately.
Gotta love this thread. "yeah, I don't understand how anyone could do drugs, except coffee, and alcohol, and ..."
Isn't a federal offense because it happened on a public airport? Is the crime and or punishment more severe because it took place on an airport?
Update:
The fuzz questioned one or two of the kids that were seen snooping around. They did admit to being out at the airport prior to the robbery when my friend saw them out there, but denied coming out and stealing anything later. Apparently, sometime after the initial questioning, one of the boys admitted to the cops that the ring leader had asked for him to lie to the police, then changed his story. When the ring leader was questioned a second time, he told a different story. The father of the ring leader was questioned also, and told the police that he believes his son, and any further questioning will be done with his attorney present. Sounds to me like they are probably the culprits, but without admission, there is nothing to pin it on them.
I learned today from the football coach, that the kid has since dropped out of school here. Don't know if he's going somewhere else or if he dropped out completely. He's a dud.
...question is how the punishment at home will be.
If the kid's a dud, the dad is likely one too. Apple don't fall far sometimes.
rape charges on college football players that get swept under the rug, etc etc...

They broke into private property, breaking locks to do so, and took someone else's property. Cut them slack because they're good athletes? I hate to see that attitude. It leads to people thinking they can get away with anything. You can read about it in the news all the time, rape charges on HS football players that get swept under the rug, etc etc...
I did find out that he enrolled in school over in the next town, about 10 miles away.
Figured that would be the likely outcome. They'll figure they got away with it. Can't necessarily blame the dad for trying to keep his kid from not having a federal offense on record, question is how the punishment at home will be.
Our field has signs warning that tampering with aircraft is a federal offense. Perhaps a simple visit from the FBI would convince these kids it is not wise to go on an airport to steal.
Sure, if you could get the FBI to cooperate with that. Looks like the field office in OKC isn't too terribly far from Okie's hometown, but you still have to convince them to come based on a crime that you may know they commit, but have no evidence for. That's probably going to be a hard one to convince them on.
Yeah, I'm betting the FBI wouldn't be inclined to come down and scare a couple boys who may or may not have stolen a couple thousand dollars worth of tools and toys and didn't touch any of the expensive stuff. I think they have better things to do. As much as it hacks me off personally, it's small potaters.

If you read this thread in it's entirety, you should know that this is not the case. It has nothing to do with his athletic skill, only that his participation in athletics puts him in a position to be punished by the coaches. Harsh punishment, I might add.
Anyway, it's all moot since the police don't have any evidence to support a case against them, and the head d-bag has quit our school.

Getting they kicked off a football team for B&E is weak punishment.
