Took the bike out and went airport shopping yesterday. I had four on the list but after the first, I didn't need to see any more. There was a group of the airport regulars sitting at the table and I ended up spending the rest of the evening talking to them and enjoying all of the stories. The airport is 12 miles away from my apartment with free tie downs and the second cheapest gas in the area. When I was asking about a hangar because of the sometimes wonderful OK weather, one of the people leasing a large hangar offered to let me pull the Cherokee in there for free anytime the weather looked bad. Great group of selfless pilots, that sold me. I do believe if I ever have to take him up on that offer I'll have to owe him a beverage of his choice. Then, as I was explaining the plan of riding in a car back down to Austin to get the Cherokee and fly up, another in the group offered to fly me down in his Viking and turned down splitting fuel. :)

So, I doubt anyone really cares but I was excited. The airport is KHSD, in OKC. Another fun story I heard, like two weeks ago these three guys partnered on a T-28 and on one of their checkouts had an engine failure and crashed short of the runway. Both were unhurt, and they had a new T-28 a week later. Sexy airplane.

Great airport. I used to hang there years ago. Is this a permanent move for you?

Man alive, that's great!

It does look like a good one. I would call it semi permanent, I am up here for school for a few years.
