iPad2 running (for the moment) FF 5.2.

This has happened several times now... most recently this weekend. I have FF set to bring up the taxi diagram after landing. Only it doesn't happen, it only brings up the plates tab. Saturday I had a folder containing the desired taxi diagram already loaded in the plates area, but it STILL would not display the diagram -- or, in fact, ANY approach plate. It's characteristic that when in this condition, clicking on a plate (or diagram in the plates area) shows the plate briefly, unfocused, then the display snaps back to the plates folder overview.

Force quitting FF and restarting fixes the problem. But it happens so frequently that actually, I've yet to see a taxi diagram come up after landing.

(And Saturday, I had trouble getting FF to force quit. The usual method of double clicking the Home key didn't work. I don't recall which of many shenanigans finally worked -- I had the distinct impression that iOS was malfunctioning.)

Have you shut all the apps down and the entire ipad and started over?

Have you emailed FF support? They're good at getting back quickly.

No, but without doing that, iOS seemed to work normally after I restarted FF, and it's working normally now (at home). As if the problem was caused by FF -- or is a random iOS bug that just happens to involve FF in some weird way.

I'm hesitant to bother them until I'm completely sure it's a FF issue.

Also, I just upgraded to FF 5.3, so at the moment I'm inclined to wait and see if it recurs.

How about a hard reboot of the iPad?

I've not seen the problem you describe on my iPad2 w/FF. Other minor things, yes, but not that issue.

If anything it sounds more like an issue with your Foreflight data. I'd delete the entire App and start over.

After a reboot, that's always my next step with any app. So far it has been successful clearing most glitches.

Cheers

And their answer was just to Delete Expired, and also to make sure I wasn't missing any needed data (all areas in the U.S. checked for download, and actually downloaded).

Now I guess all I can do is try it with 5.3.1 and see if it happens again. :dunno:

Isn't there a switch in the settings to force a re-download of all data?

5.3.3 is out and states to correct plate problems... Maybe this will fix it.

Have not had a problem with any of my plates and the taxi diagrams come up after landing.im now up to 5.3.3

Maybe. I didn't look up "Reload Download List" in the users guide to see what it does. That's a pretty drastic solution though, and they didn't suggest that at all. I'm at 5.3.3 now and have yet to fly into a towered field since I posted this question. I'll try again soon.

Yeah it was more in response to Jesse's comment to delete the whole App. They built in an interim step to just delete its data. I had to do it once a while ago. Had stuck downloads.

One thing I noted was that I was presented downloads right after updating it. These included the charts, which I think are a little early for the 8/22 cycle date. Hmmmm...
