A double date, in double planes… to a rustic destination for a great burger! Have you been double dating during COVID? With a marine layer on departure, today I expect a simple cleared route and therefore a few clicks to file in ForeFlight worked nicely. Had I expected a lengthy route clearance I might well have requested a clearance for an “IFR Climb to VFR-on-Top”. What is your preference and when?
Thanks for your insight and enjoy the flight!

Agree totally... might be my favorite destination with family and dogs. And, wow, the burgers?!!

It's a great spot, and tubing, kayaking, or rafting that river is fantastic.

Rick is a great guy too

You might want to stop using "fingers" for air-to-air comms. This fellow might be able to educate as to why:

You're totally correct... but whenever I try to use 122.75 within 100 miles of KSBA I find a handful of chatterboxes. Therefore, on this flight we went to 123.45. Now that I see that someone owns the finger/fingers frequencies, I'll stick to 122.75. Thanks for watching... and thanks for the heads up!

Great video. Thanks for putting it together. You're totally right about those burgers. They are incredible!

Thanks for the video. I'm planning on camping there July 11. Can't wait for the burgers!

Enjoy camping and the burgers at Kern Valley!
Thanks! It was a fun field to fly into with an interesting downwind. Runway gets short real fast when you come in with too much speed.
Nice having the river only a few hundred feet away.
We were the only fly in campers, with one other drive-in camper. A group flew in with a vans rv10 and an extra-300 for the day to fish.
