We are flying the Bonanza from Florida to a family get-together in Connecticut next month. We will be arriving on Thursday or Friday and leaving on Monday and we also plan to make a couple of day trips to NYC.

HPN (West Chester NY) is the closest airport to the gathering, but it seems like a pretty busy and expensive spot. Some of the reviews of airports in the region talk about high facility fees, landing fees, parking fees, expensive gas and other fees. I wouldn't quibble over a few dollars but it sounds like we will be looking at a few hundred, not counting fuel.

Is anyone here familiar with the area? Where can we get good service and reasonable (I'm not asking for cheap) fees. We will need to rent a car too.

I'm from there. What town do you want to fly to?

Danbury KDXR and Bridgeport KBDR are the two closest airports to KHPN. Bridgeport has better train service to NYC.

BDR is a nice quiet airport. Easy to get in and out. Three Wing is a good FBO

Train service to NYC was one of the things we talked about, so that's good

The get together will be a little bit south of Darien, but as long as we get within an hour or so we will be good. We don't live almost a thousand miles away by accident.

I read some good, but old comments about Three Wing. Good to hear you agree.

BFR for overall cost savings, the FBO is freindly with cheap gas, also have a crew car.

If not HPN, then BDR. Three Wing is pretty good.

I would check the exact fees at the HPN fbo's. It may be worth your while, after all things considered to go to HPN. I am more than familiar with the airport...
