Flying out of the New York City area

I recently relocated to NYC. Though extremely satisfied with earlier experiences in KISP (Islip), I look for an airfield a bit closer to Manhattan for regular aircraft rental (VFR only). Any hints and tips are very welcome. Thanks! Regards, Patrick

I fly out of Republic which is probably 15 miles or so closer to NYC

Happy to recommend Ventura at KFRG. 50min train ride from Penn Station to Farmingdale, and a 5 minute cab ride to the airport.
KHPN could be another option, no personal experience though.

Where are you located in the City? Westchester Flying Club at KHPN may be a good alternative for you. Archers, Arrows, and Bonanzas club owned and maintained.
