Touchdown! Greaser!
Got this from Angel Flight / Grace Flight, thought I'd share it in case any Texas pilots want to support a good cause and get a chance to fly the 787 Sim in Houston:
You can fly the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner!!! Well . . . you can at least fly the Dreamliner Simulator located at George Bush International Airport in Houston (KIAH).
Southwest Flying Club of Houston (many of whose members are Angel Flight South Central/Grace Flight pilots) is offering interested pilots a chance to win a one hour session in the simulator by purchasing a raffle ticket (proceeds of which benefit Angel Flight South Central/Grace Flight of America). For a donation of just $10 you will receive a ticket representing one chance at the simulator session. For a donation of $100 you will receive eleven tickets!!
Here’s how it works:
1. To commit your donation, email Pete Perez at peter@polyseed.com Pete is the President of the Southwest Flying Club and an active AFSC/GFA pilot volunteer.
2. Pete will confirm the receipt of your commitment by email and email you a ticket number (or numbers). You can make your donation via cash, check, or PayPal (Pete will send you an invoice that will allow you to pay via PayPal. Heck, if you’re a member of SWFC you can even charge it to your bill! If paying by check, mail your donation to (to be a valid entry, checks or other payment must be received by the time of the drawing at SWFC’s annual dinner on September 17):
Southwest Flying Club, Inc.
18230 Spruce Creek
Houston, TX 77084-2358
3. Each ticket purchased prior to the dinner date (September 17) will be assigned a “virtual” raffle number which will be emailed to you.
4. Tickets will be available for donations at the dinner up to the time of the drawing. If you donate at the dinner, you’ll receive a receipt there.
5. After the dinner and the business meeting, the guest speaker (or his designee) will draw the winning number out of a specially designed container (or an old pot from the kitchen).
6. The winner will be notified immediately either directly (if they are present) or via phone or email.
Remember!!!!
You do NOT have to be present to win, but payment for your ticket must be received prior to the drawing for it to be valid.
You do NOT have to be a member of SWFC to win.
The simulator will be ready to fly sometime after October 1st and you have six months to enjoy your experience.
This simulator experience is provided by David Lundy, SWFC’s guest speaker for this year’s dinner, who chose Angel Flight South Central/Grace Flight of America to benefit from this generous contribution. All proceeds for the simulator donations (as well as the other silent auction items available at the club’s dinner) go to Angel Flight South Central/Grace Flight of America, a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization.
Good luck and thanks for supporting AFSC/GFA!!
