My son Seth was home for spring break last week and needed to go to Sedona for a flight with his instructor/mentor. I offered to fly us in the Cardinal since the weather was finally looking good. Flight time was 1.6 hrs from Springerville (KJTC), stronger headwinds than forcast. Once we were on the ground we found Clarke's hangar and found out he was introducing Seth to spins in the Great Lakes biplane. Did the safety briefing on the chute and how to bail out if needed and off they went. After his flight we went to the restaurant on the field and had the $100 hamburger and then headed home. I hadn't flown to Sedona in about 20 years, it's still a great destination! IMAG0641.jpg IMAG0648.jpg
 
Very interesting...my brothers are from Eager and one still lives there. I did an aerobatic course in the Great Lakes - tons of fun.
 
Never flew in,but did stay overnight at the cottages at the airport. Great views and a nice restaurant.

Do you have plans to fly to visit your brother in Eagar? If so, give me a heads up you are coming.

I’d love to but the density altitude scares me a bit in the Cherokee 140. But yes one of these days I plan to fly there. Just need to plan it out.

Yes, the DA can be daunting. I've seen 10k DA in the summer, makes my 180HP Cardinal basically a two seater. Winters are good if the weather cooperates.
