Okay boys and girls, winter is officially over! :D

Time to clean out the hangar, update the log book, check the medical dates, bi annual review dates, wax the plane, clean out the rental plane, get your night currency, do a few t&gs, set summer goals!

Finish your PPL, get that tail wheel endorsement, do some spin training, take that aerobatics course, formation school, fly in a real airplane...an RV!

Time to go flying!

No more excuses! :goofy:

We are digging out from two feet of snow, it's still snowing, my plane is in another country, and my hangar lease doesn't begin until April :(

I'm waiting for the 10" of snow from Tuesday to go away.

Yes, I need to move (some of the non-weather reasons would cause this to go SZ).

Guys...Guys... Snow is wonderful...:):).. I LOVE the white stuff..

A fresh snow is fun to fly low and slow over. You can see critters for miles! After a snow I'm the first one to the airport to dig out the approach to my hangar.

Check out the unedited video I took looking at deer. :D

If you were flying a 150 you could have gotten a good shot! Too fast! LOL

Question is, is that legal though? And how would you get to it in time. hmmm

poor deer!

If he didn't come within 500 feet of a person, building or vehicle then he's legal.

Should have been clearer. Was thinking of hunting from the airplane, not low-flying. Sorry.

Cool video though.

Looks like a blizzard outside my office.

Winter, no winter here in Florida. Though it was cold a few weeks ago I think it was in the low 50's:wink2: Left the northeast 10 years ago and though I miss a lot the weather is not one of the things I miss.

And didn't do anything that could be considered "harrassing wildlife".

Nope.

I sat down with the NE game warden for this area and told him exactly what I wanted to do. He was more concerned about chasing game to hunters or spotting game for hunters. Flying over them is not "harassment" unless I chased them for hours (as he put it).

I was concerned about over flying Bald Eagles that are wintering here, but same rules apply. Do it once or twice and leave. The eagles actually get use to me flying overhead and ignore me.

The warden knows me and will call if he gets complaints.

Be glad you don't live in Southern California... Brutal winter there.

Most states have laws prohibiting shooting from a vehicle.

I'm sure you are correct, in most cases. My son in law told me about an aerial hog hunt in TX with AR's and 30 round clips from helos. Could be a story, but it sounds like fun!

Used to be able to wolf "hunt" from heli's in AK.

We have them here. You can basically throw hand grenades at them and the game warden won't mind.

Douglas is right, it was a very cold winter here in Florida the temperatures got down to the mid 50's on a couple of evenings.
At times the temperature even got cold enough to keep my Corona chilled without the use of ice while lounging at the beach watching the Northerners frolic in the water.

What is this word snow you speaketh of?

Texas makes an exception for hogs, IIRC any time, any means no limit

Yes, I need to move (some of the non-weather reasons would cause this to go SZ).

It is all caused by global warming....

Rained for the first time in a few weeks yesterday and today. Looks like it'll be clear by this evening. Most days have been in the 60's/70's so far this year. I've been flying all winter! Couldn't handle living in most parts of the country with this massive annual snowfall. I'll take the occasional non-event of an earthquake any time.

High temp of 17 today. Down to 5 degrees tonight. And yes that is Fahrenheit!

Dear Doug & Dave, you suck.

Well, after I started this thread it started snowing. :mad2: Sorry all you midwesterners, it's all my fault. :mad2:
