Is there a way to view all the locked threads?

Uses:
1) Learning what types of things actually lead to the lock
2) Some analytics as to the which threads are more likely to be locked
3) Not all of the posts in the thread were the reason for the lock, so in theory there is some useful content in them

Making an attempt at a serious response answer (understanding that was likely not the intent):

Rob, I am not aware of a way to search for locked threads specifically. Regarding item 3, locked threads are still searchable, so you can still read through them and find the useful content that may exist.

Items 1 and 2 are only useful if you're trying to see how much you can get away with without getting in trouble or getting a thread locked, which is not something we'd support. Of course, if users read the RoC, that should make it clear...

@Ted DuPuis -- the query was serious.

My OPINION is that many threads start off benign and well intended. Then the topic is mostly settled. And then they take the twist that goes into "Lock Land."

I'm interested to see if data supports my opinion. But I also understand your response and how the question raised an eyebrow.

Fair enough, Rob. As you know, the pot gets stirred 'round these parts a lot. :)

Being one of those wielding the Ban Hammer, on the whole I think you're correct. However there's also a significant number of people who bash a newbie for how he or she asked a question or made a post. We have a bad habit of being a tough crowd. Now I'll also be the first to say there are some folks who bring it on themselves, but the recently locked Classifieds thread was a good example of a thread where people were being needlessly critical from post 2.

Here’s another to include in your study:

Can you find where it went off the rails?
The whole thing went off the rails when the SZ was closed with no replacement venue, thus drawing conversations like that into the general population of PoA, subsequently giving the MC the ability to drop the ban hammer on anyone they want, whenever they want, all in the name of RoC violations. But, that's their prerogative seeing this is not really a public venture, and we all agree to the Rules of Conduct.

But to answer your question, it was derailed when someone disagreed with someone because of their beliefs, and tolerance is CLEARLY a one way street...

Being the OP, may I respectfully request that this thread not be used to rehash the recent thread that was locked for good reason, and probably much later than it should have been?

I think locking this one with some deletions would be very helpful to the community at large.

Thanks!

This has been hashed out ad infinitum and does not require any further discussion. Threads from SZ were bleeding over into the rest of PoA. There are plenty of other forums where people can go have SZ-esque discussions, and many PoAers frequent those forums/groups as well as a location for those discussion. Feel free, have at it - I think most if not all of the MC are members of other forums, too, so it's not as if we think this is one-stop-shopping. SZ is gone, PoA is better off for it, and it's not coming back. As you said, PoA is not a public venture, so when you join you agree to adhere to the RoC and the enforcement of them by the MC. Each forum has its own mods, its own rules, and its own enforcement.
