KMSO tower is notoriously slow, maybe a 3 second transmission every 5 minutes or so. Yesterday I was there and there was a particularly interesting sequence of events that I'd like to hear. I know I took off from my home 'drome about 9:30AM MST flew around for a half hour or so, then went to MSO, did some landings, fueled up, did a couple more then came back home Total time in the air was 2.5 hrs with a 20-30 minute break to fuel up. I've been letting the atc feeds play in the background hoping to hear it, but so far no luck. Anybody know of any software that will skip silence? or a better way to not sit and listen to 57 minutes of silence and 3 minutes of transmissions every hour?

I find scrolling through the file with Adium works well. It's free, so no harm in giving it a try. It may even have a silence removal plugin but I don't remember right now.

You can probably find some free audio editing software. Open up the mp3 and you will see the wave pattern. Flat line = no sound. :) Just skip to see where you see the wave pattern and play.
