I am thinking this year, I'll try some oysters (New England Style) stuffing for the bird, and some sausage for the oven batch. Any trade secrets you blokes want to share?

Wine in the sausage stuffing in the oven makes a tasty moist stuffing

Stove top cornbread stuffing. Add celery, onion, and sausage (if desired). Put that in a sheet pan. Take an egg, can of condensed cream of chicken and poblano and mix it all up, then mix in with all the above. Add water or broth to the mix slowly, allowing to soak in and bake 350 until done.

Spending a few hours tomorrow making pozole. I'll shred some cabbage and heat up some tortillas for the stuffing.

:stirpot::rockon::yes:

We may wash it down with a frosty beverage or 10.

I'm from New England and I NEVER had oysters in my stuffing. Pepperidge Farm Stuffing for the win.

Nothing. Will grudgingly be at future SIL's parents house for Thanksgiving. Hopefully not for very long.

The way my mother made it... She was from Newton, MA - use to tell us it was New England style... Oh well.... there goes that memory... :p

Similar scenario a few years back... actually had a good time...

I'm from New England too, and the only correct answer is (my Mom's) sausage stuffing cooked in the bird!

Airline pilot’s thanksgiving a few years back: pumpkin spice latte for breakfast… Jersey Mike’s for lunch, Turkey sub. Cranberry juice and vodka at the bar with the other half of lunch ‘cause the kitchen is closed. Don’t really miss it!

Oysters in stuffing sounds DELICIOUS! I got an airplane, where do you live????

Not making anything. It's just my husband and me. Our local Best Western puts on a killer Thanksgiving buffet and we're doing that again. Going early enough this time, though, in the hopes they won't have run out of cranberry sauce early, like they did last year. This was a non-event for me, but a tragedy for my husband. I've never seen anyone who loves cranberry sauce more than he does.

I really miss my family Thanksgiving dinners, but it's been decades since they happened. After my brother and I flew the coop and got married and my grandparents were all gone, my parents started spending Thanksgiving in Hawaii. We never did have big family gatherings, though, as my family was small. We never had more than 8 people unless we invited friends, too.

I just realized something. I'm not getting my standard burger on a bike ride today. Both Habit and Inn n Out are closed. I guess that leaves Carl's. But, that's a Thanksgiving tradition. Find an alternate burger place.

Adding bacon makes the stuffing much better.

Though tbh, bacon makes everything better.

Filling? Never heard it called that.

This year we're just doing a basic bread stuffing with sausage/onion/celery, since we're still unpacking the kitchen.

We've got a killer andouille/dried apricots and cranberries/pecans/onion/celery plus some other stuff stuffing that we love, but it's a good bit more involved to make.
