Favorite LiveATC frequency

I never thought about it, but I checked and there is a feed for 122.75 in New England. Might be interesting.
 
Speaking of this, what is the best LiveATC frequency for clearance to practice copying clearances?

That’s an interesting question. Not many of the feeds specifically include CD frequencies so it’d have to be a busy airport that doesn’t have CD so it’d all be on ground.
 
My favorite are the oceanic HF frequencies, mostly because it harkens back to a very different time. SELCAL and folks listening to static all night crossing one of the ponds.

But because propagation is what it is, it’s very hit or miss catching one of them with much radio traffic. And of course some people don’t like listening to the static.

And the method is slowly dying as well, which also limits traffic on those frequencies.
 
Second favorite: Japan. The sing song English is fascinating to listen to.

Not only that, but since PDC is used now for nearly all airline ops at busy airports, CD is even quieter. Best bet is to find a smaller class C somewhere that has a CD feed. Try KBDL, I was just listening to it earlier and heard several clearances being issued. Full clearance too.
 
ORD or JFK tower/ground. I am sure ATL is good too but I have never listened there for whatever reason.
 
Mine is Bradley Windsor Locks CT. Tower, Approach, ANG. Steady stream of traffic, good mix with airlines through small GA with examples of techniques for both.
 
YYZ Ground when their version of Kennedy Steve is working is pretty fun .

For clearance practice, look for a busy D that doesn't use clearance delivery when the tower is open.
 
I live it, therefore I don't want to hear it. I will add that its a crying shame that there aren't any live IT or engineering feeds available. :sosp:

There are. They’re held on conference bridges all over the world. Usually a bunch of typing sounds and some manager asking over and over when it’ll be fixed. :)

We usually really don't like live engineering feeds. The one in April, 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico wasn't very pretty at all.
 
Good thread, as I'm always looking for new good feeds...my favorite so far is Madison (WI) Dane County KMSN. It has the clearest audio of any LiveATC channel I've found, which makes it good for listening in the car.
 
Camarillo (KCMA). Towered with helicopters, students, some war birds, and lots of folks coming in to eat at the Waypoint Cafe.
 
KDSM in Des Moines. Small enough that approach, tower and ground are all one one station yet big enough it's busy most of the time.
 
MYF is a frequent one for me to bring up. Then again...DOV is my go to during the day, but part of that is curiosity on how the antenna on my garage is doing. :)

I grab MYF mainly because it is the airport I fly out of when I am in California and able to get up, almost like how some folks keep up with the news from their “old stomping grounds”, I keep up with the airport. Most folks probably wouldn’t find DOV interesting either...but my LiveATC feed was what was used to get the audio clip for the media of the United Airlines emergency flight that landed at the air base awhile back , so kind of cool.
