Fatal crash at Osage Beach, MO (K15)

Don't know more than is in the news which isn't much. I've flown into that airport a few times, looks like they went down near the approach end of 32. There's a big tree-covered hill there right before the runway, you need to be on your toes but it's not terribly difficult either.

I would like to know more. This is close enough to Springfield that it's plastered on the new (or at least it was for a day). My wife, kids and I just completed a trip to Boulder CO this past weekend so this has there interest. A little more information:

If it were a business transaction and the guy regularly leased his plane to others than it makes sense that he may only have met him once. But the reporters use of the term “borrow” does kind of muddy the meaning of a lease. I’m guessing the accident pilot’s plane would have been the same type, an SR22? What a tragedy for all.
