FAA Approved Off Medication, Still special Issuance??

Long story short, I received a SI 1st class medical. I was on Lexapro (SSRI) for about 2 years. I came off it, and submitted my package to the FAA for a regular issuance.

I received a letter saying it would be granted, but with stipulations. I was blindsided by this as I thought they would just issue a regular certification.

The letter said it would be good for 5 years and allow my HIMS AME to issue a certification every 6 months with a letter from my primary care provider, and a BCP.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Or any Insight?

As Dr. Lou just said, the FAA is not just worried about the medication in this case. They are also concerned about the reason/diagnosis that required you to be on it for 2 years. Depression, anxiety, and things like that are not things the FAA takes lightly, nor should they. The monitoring requirement is for the actual issue you have that resulted in you taking the SSRI.
