What would you buy to make a new to you EXP aircraft VFR capable.

It's a 24 volt system, and has 1 POC Com and a ICS in it now.

cost is a big factor.

I sugested one of these

$1200+
Or
http://www.americanavionics.com/shopping/product.php?productid=16140&cat=0&page=1 $1180 has built in IC.

combined with
http://www.tropicaero.com/10Expand.asp?ProductCode=air2000c-001 $650+

OR one of these,

https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=194&pID=68 $3200

and of course, a transponder with mode C

lots f new stuff, what would you use ?

hand held ?

Looks like you're wanting the package to have xpdr, comm and VFR-GPS nav, yes? No VOR nav heads, etc.?

Do you need them? heads up VFR ?

to be practicable you need a com, a nav, and a transponder /mode C
intercom would be nice

I'm thinking that the Icom A210 has the IC built in, and the Garmin 327 has the mode C built in.

we can always use a step down to get 12 volts.

I like the idea of the Garmin 250XL... good radio, good nav.
