Well, "landed on the airport runway with its wheels up" sounds like a normal gear up, either because the gear failed to properly extend or the pilot forgot to extend the gear. Pretty much a non-story.

Unless it was your instructor or the plane you're going to be flying involved, it will have zero impact on you, other than from a curiosity/titillation standpoint. Nothing to see here. Please just move along, folks!

That's about all I heard, and agree with Grant. It may have been marginally interesting if it was someone enroute to KOSH, but it sounds like a local guy.

I'm going to be flying cubs for my sport. I plan to eventually move up, but right now flying under the sport regs is perfect for me.

While you are out there consider getting some glider experience. I got some dual experience in a Schweizer and it was a blast.
