Electric trim buzzing in the headset

Having it checked but curious in the meantime if anyone has any thoughts.
I will be flying along minding my own business shining green lasers FROM my plane (totally legal) and I want to get a better angle so I trim.

For whatever reason, it is only up / down that does it. Roll trim doesn't do it.

anyway when I hit it, suddenly a buzzing noise can be heard in all of the headsets. like a vibrator sound. And not one of those little rabbit ones either, like a mega powerful one like mom used to use before dad installed the new shower head.

You know, you are a kid and you are trying to sleep at night but you cant because it sounds like a truckload of.. um... well trucks on the other side of the wall all using the engine brake to slow down.

You lay there for hours on end listening and it works itself into your dreams and it is so God Awful that you get crappy grades in school and your mom is like "Whats wrong you are smarter than this?" You don't have the heart to tell her the truth so you just say "I'm bored" then you end up in the gifted and talented program and now you are double f***ed because the workload is heavier but the noise still happens night after GD night!

Your grades are further in the trash, you cannot make eye contact w/ your mom at all, the family thinks you are on drugs, you are constantly in detention. All of this is happening during the most awkward years of your life anyway. All of your young budding peers are hooking up and telling tales of their first experiences w/ Women and the thought repulses you because anytime you see a pretty girl or a truck drives by for that matter, you are reminded of the evening to come and the hell that will be bestowed upon you as you try to get to sleep a few short hours from now. It is all you can do to not slit your wrists on a daily basis.

So what might be causing that noise when I adjust the trim?

I am still irritated that I can't switch it over your french lady.

That and the plane is 15kts slower ever since you rode with me.
I am thinking of just getting a Mooney now. :D

I failed at that.
Got tired before qualifying.

Next time I go up, I am going to check the Passenger side. I would assume since they control the same motor they will both have the same effect but I haven't tested it.

You just need to drink stronger stuff next time. That way it won't take as long. Maybe start up at altitude. You wouldn't be pic of course

Is this a new problem? I would suspect a fault in the grounding circuit of the trim motor, or a failed capacitor on its power feed, allowing noise to feed back into the intercom.

BTW, I'll address your Oedipal issues for $69.95.

I first noticed it ~3 weeks ago. It was intermittent. Still is actually.
 
Bad ground or dirty / worn brushes or contacts in the motor, most likely. There might also be a capacitor somewhere in the circuit to suppress the interference, and which needs to be replaced.
